Public Ally with Books for Classrooms
Books for Classrooms is looking for a Community Outreach Coordinator to develop the organization's community connections by coordinating outreach activities and developing structured communication systems that promote literacy opportunities. This includes creating materials that explain the organization’s programs to educators and community stakeholders. All activities will focus on capacity-building and community awareness.
- Improved communication systems, including social media and newsletters, for program awareness
- Sustainable outreach methods for engaging schools and community organizations
- A professional online space for educators to exchange teaching ideas and literacy resources
Qualifications and Skills:
- Experience with the following programs- Word, Excel, Adobe, MailChimp, Shopify, Canva, Facebook, InDesign, and Instagram
- Most Desirable Experience: Word, Excel, Adobe, Canva, Facebook, and Instagram
- Some or Similar Experience: MailChimp and Shopify
- Skill Building/ Will need training: InDesign
- Strong connections to Indigenous communities and experience building trusted relationships
- Spanish-speaking ability is desirable
Workplace:
- M-F with some weekend availability
- Must have reliable transportation
- Hybrid- Mostly remote
- Must reside in the Greater Tucson area with required meetings at the ASU School of Social Work in Tucson
