OUTC Student IT Support Technician
We are seeking curious, motivated, and tech-minded Student IT Support Technicians to join the OU Tech Center! Whether you’re an experienced troubleshooter or someone who just loves digging into how things work, this is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional IT environment. As a part of our team, you’ll get to experience many different aspects of IT and will grow to become the go-to resource for helping students, faculty, and staff navigate technology with ease.
- Resolve Technical Issues: Troubleshoot and fix hardware, software, and network connectivity problems for university devices.
- Provide User Support: Offer friendly, clear assistance to the campus community via phone, chat, email, and in-person interactions.
- Maintain Systems: Perform routine software updates, security scans, and hardware configurations (e.g., monitors, printers).
- Guide & Train: Help users navigate essential tools like Google Workspace, Zoom, Microsoft Office, and other University Software.
- Contribute to Projects: Assist with special IT projects and help document technical procedures.
Technical Qualifications:
- Operating Systems: Proficiency in installing, using, and troubleshooting Windows and macOS environments.
- Productivity Suites: Strong familiarity with Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms, Chat, Meet) and Microsoft Office.
- Hardware & Peripherals: Experience supporting computer hardware, peripherals (printers, scanners, monitors, keyboard/mouse), and mobile devices ( phones, tablets, Surfaces).
- Networking: Foundational knowledge of network troubleshooting and connectivity.
