This pay rate is 27 hourly and requires previous experience as an ABA or RBT. 

Mira Mesa and Tierrasanta Location:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 1:30 pm - 6:00 pm

Thursdays/ Modified days 11:30 am-6:00 pm

Bay Park Location: 

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday hours:  2:30 pm - 6:05 pm

Wednesday hours: 2:30 pm - 6:05 pm

Please note this position requires toileting assistance/coaching as stated in responsibilities:

• Provide personal care support, including toileting assistance, as required based on individual student needs and in accordance with program policies and hygiene procedures. (Higher end of pay rate)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Leaders of Tomorrow (L.O.T.) is an after-school enrichment program serving students in Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade at sites in San Diego County. Our program provides students with engaging academic, recreational, and enrichment experiences that encourage creativity, learning, and personal growth.

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for supporting students in Transitional Kindergarten through 5th grade by promoting full participation in academic and enrichment activities within the program setting. This role works closely with enrichment staff to provide individualized assistance to students with diverse learning, behavioral, and developmental needs. The Inclusion Aide encourages student independence, implementing support strategies, fostering positive social interactions, and helping maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. The candidate must be willing and able to support students with personal care needs, including diapering and toileting.

Inclusion Aides do not lead their own group or carry a set ratio. They work closely with the site director to support assigned students, typically assisting up to five students with behavioral and social needs, depending on individual requirements. Once their assigned students have gone home, they may either end their shift or assist with general program needs, where they can be included in staff ratios and help with activities or staff breaks.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide one-on-one or small group support to children with special needs or developmental differences
• Assist participants in engaging in daily activities, including homework help, recreation, and group programs
• Supervise and ensure the safety of students at all times during program hours, including transitions, indoor/outdoor activities, and dismissal
• Provide academic support, including homework help and tutoring as needed
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment that supports students’ social and emotional development
• Implement behavior management strategies and reinforce program expectations consistently
• Communicate effectively with staff, site leaders, and families regarding student needs and progress
• Set up, organize, and clean activity spaces and materials before and after program use and
  follow all program policies, procedures, and safety guidelines, including emergency protocols
• Adapt activities and support strategies to meet the diverse needs of students, including those requiring additional support
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and high quality programming
• Assisting students who need help with toileting, bathroom routines, or hygiene in a dignified and safe manner
• Documenting assistance or incidents according to program protocols
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development as required
• Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• Implement personal care strategies as outlined in students' Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), including support for toileting and diapering to ensure health, comfort, and cleanliness

Must have or be willing to obtain the following:

• 48 College credits or pass the District’s Classroom Assistant Proficiency Exam (a basic math and literacy exam) (CAPE exam offered upon hiring)
• CPR training
• Negative TB test
• Mandated Reporter training 
• Background check/fingerprinting 
• Preferred experience in: 
• Applied Behavior Analysis (A.B.A.) 
• Registered Behavioral Tech (R.B.T.)
• Paraeducator/Paraprofessional
