What You’ll Be Doing
As the Self-Governance Manager Intern, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of internal governance efforts to ensure our policies, procedures, and internal controls are clearly defined and consistently applied. You will also support governance documentation, internal reviews, and adherence to operating standards and policies. You will be responsible for a team of associates, and will be their primary point of contact for assignments, guidance, questions, and connection to overall leadership. A manager must be willing to dedicate at least 5 hours per week and attend and host any necessary meetings. This is an unpaid internship role; academic credit is available for students who need or want it.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee development, maintenance, and review of internal policies, procedures, and governance documents
- Lead and coordinate the internal governance team, including assigning tasks and managing timelines
- Collaborate with leadership, compliance, and policy teams to align governance practices
- Review governance materials for clarity, accuracy, and consistency
- Support onboarding and training of governance team members
- Provide guidance, feedback, and support to self-governance team members
Qualifications
- Political science, administration, public policy, legal studies, and related majors strongly preferred
- Willing to learn and adapt to problems
- Be able to consistently communicate with team members
