Community Engagement Manager

Our Father’s Children exists to provide hope to children of abuse and neglect, ages 6-18, through weeklong summer camps and weekend retreats. 

The Community Engagement Manager is responsible for cultivating and strengthening relationships that advance the mission of Our Father’s Children (OFC). This role serves as a bridge between OFC and its donors, volunteers, community partners, foundations, businesses, and other supporters, ensuring that individuals and organizations have meaningful opportunities to engage with and invest in the mission.

The ideal candidate is highly relational, organized, proactive, creative, and able to manage multiple priorities. This individual should be passionate about OFC's mission and comfortable representing the organization in a variety of settings, building relationships with people from diverse backgrounds, and turning ideas into action.

Accountability

The Community Engagement Manager reports directly to the Executive Director and works collaboratively with OFC staff.

Key Responsibilities

Community Engagement & Relationship Development

  • Cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships with current, prospective, and past donors, businesses, civic organizations, foundations, and community partners.
  • Represent OFC at community events, meetings, speaking engagements, networking opportunities, and other public-facing activities.
  • Identify opportunities to expand OFC's network of community partners and increase awareness of the organization's mission and programs.
  • Communicate the impact of OFC's programs in a compelling and mission-centered manner.

Development & Fundraising

  • Support the development and implementation of OFC's annual fundraising and development strategy.
  • Cultivate donor relationships and identify opportunities for increased giving and long-term engagement.
  • Manage donor communication, recognition, stewardship, and gratitude efforts.
  • Maintain accurate donor and supporter information through OFC's CRM and database systems.
  • Write and coordinate grant applications, reports, and other funding proposals.
  • Develop and support donor membership and recurring giving programs.
  • Assist the Executive Director and Board of Directors with donor and fundraising strategies as needed.

Events

  • Plan, coordinate, and execute fundraising and community engagement events.
  • Along with OFC staff manage event timelines, logistics, communication, sponsorships, volunteers, and follow-up.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with event sponsors, vendors, participants, and volunteers.
  • Evaluate events and maintain participant and donor information to strengthen future engagement.

Program & Camp Support

  • Collaborate with OFC staff to support the planning and execution of OFC's camps, retreats, and other programs.
  • Assist in developing programming, activities, and experiences that support OFC's mission and the needs of children and teens served.
  • Provide hands-on support during camp, retreats, volunteer training, and other program activities as needed.

Communications & Marketing

  • Develop and coordinate communications that keep donors, volunteers, partners, and the broader community connected to OFC.
  • Assist with social media and other marketing efforts that communicate OFC's mission, programs, needs, and impact.
  • Collect and organize stories, photos, statistics, and other program information to communicate OFC's impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, business, ministry, or a related field preferred.
  • Experience in nonprofit development, community engagement, fundraising, communications, or a related field.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain authentic relationships with a wide variety of people.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Experience with donor databases, CRM systems, or other organizational management systems preferred.
  • Experience with fundraising events, grant writing, donor stewardship, or community partnerships preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Comfortable representing OFC publicly and communicating the organization's mission and impact.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Our Father's Children and a desire to serve children and teens who have experienced abuse and neglect.
