French and/or Spanish Teacher

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated French and/or Spanish teacher to join our World Language Department for the 2026–2027 school year. The ideal candidate will create an engaging, student-centered classroom that develops students’ proficiency and confidence in the target language while fostering an appreciation for Francophone and/or Spanish-speaking cultures.
Qualifications
New York State certification in French and/or Spanish (Grades 7–12) required
Strong proficiency in the target language
Knowledge of current World Language teaching practices and proficiency-based instruction
Familiarity with New York State World Language Standards and ACTFL standards
Commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
Teach multiple levels of French and/or Spanish in grades 9–12
Develop engaging, standards-aligned lessons emphasizing real-world communication and target-language use
Incorporate authentic cultural materials and experiences into instruction
Assess student progress and differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Collaborate with World Language colleagues on curriculum, assessments, and departmental initiatives
Communicate effectively with students, families, colleagues, and administrators
Participate actively in the school community
We are looking for an educator who is energetic, collaborative, creative, and passionate about language and culture. Experience with Checkpoint B/FLACS assessments and upper-level courses is a plus.
This is a full-time public school teaching position with salary and benefits determined by the district’s collective bargaining agreement.
