Curriculum Specialist - NeuroAI for High School
Time zones and location: This position is fully remote. You can work from any location that you are authorized to work in. However, we expect team members to be available to attend regular weekly meetings virtually within Eastern US business hours. We are currently unable to hire employees in Iran, Cuba, or Crimea due to US Sanctions.
Compensation: $40-50 USD/hour for US-based candidates based on skills and experience. We use a geography-based compensation strategy that adjusts salaries based on the cost of living and market rates in a specific country. You can see our full Hiring and Compensation Policy here.
Terms: Part-time, 6- to 12-month contract role based on interest and program need. ~15 hours/week. The role is hired through Neuromatch.

Role Summary
We are looking for a temporary part-time Curriculum Specialist to help develop new materials for six modular, open-source units as a part of a series titled NeuroAI: Intelligence in Brains and Machines for high school students (grades 11-12), loosely based on Neuromatch’s existing NeuroAI course. This is a pilot program focused on public high school students in New York City, NY, USA. This is an AI Institute for Artificial and Natural Intelligence (ARNI) project in partnership with Neuromatch and the Teachers College Digital Futures Institute (DFI), funded by the Dana Foundation, to create materials accessible to high school-aged students on neuroscience and AI. As the Curriculum Specialist, you will bring expertise in the field of NeuroAI and collaborate with a Teacher Fellow who specializes in high school science education. Together, you will develop the modules in an online format to be widely distributed first across New York City public schools as a pilot, and then globally. Modules include: Brains and Machines, From Neurons to Networks (Representation), Learning from Experience (Feedback and Adaptation), Perception and Decision-Making in Humans and AI, Generalization and Failure, Ethics and Society in NeuroAI. In this role, you would work part-time for 6 months to 1 year to develop and refine these materials and help test the materials with an NYC teacher cohort.
