Audit or Tax Accountant: Entry-Level Full-Time Fall 2027 & Fall 2028 and
Internship Co-Ops or Part time opportunities for Spring 2027, Summer 2027, and Spring 2028.
The ideal candidate must be enrolled in, or have graduated from, a qualified accounting program. The candidate also must provide a timeline for fulfilling the requirements and becoming eligible to sit for the CPA exam. The successful applicant also must have current authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

About the Position
- Essential functions of this job – the duties and responsibilities that the employee, co-op, or intern will perform (with or without reasonable accommodation) include:
- Internalizing and adhering to the firms policies and procedures
- Learning and applying documentation and referencing standards
- Developing a working knowledge of our technology including:
- Microsoft Suite
- Tax, audit, and research applications such as CCH Engagement/Checkpoint and ProSystems/Intelliconnect
- Star Practice Management
- Trello boards for scheduling
- SnapEvalContinuous Performance Management Software for quick and efficient feedback
- Learning and applying, under close supervision, applications for preparing audit procedures or tax compliance matters
- Keeping team members well-informed
- Tending to daily time reporting requirements, project budgets, and annual chargeable-hour goals
- Demonstrating confident communication skills and showing a willingness to be a junior ambassador of the firm by participating in community and academic events and outings
- Continuously strengthening and leveraging skills in building and maintaining relationships with our team members, clients, community associations, and alumni networks
- Being willing to obtain annual continuing education requirements as sponsored by the firm
- Taking steps toward passing the CPA exam in the near term; with a bonus program that matchings your timeline to complete, or pursuing other certifications that match your career pursuits.
- Performing other duties as assigned
For internship applicants: Successful interns will work alongside DeJoy professionals in a closely supervised environment doing meaningful work, similar to the essential functions (above) that entry-level staff accountants perform.

The role also requires:
· Consistent access to a reliable vehicle or other transportation for traveling to our office and to client locations, and maintenance of a valid driving license and standard New York State limits of insurance.
· Moderate overtime of roughly 200 to 300 hours throughout the year (generally from January to April, but also at other times as needed).
ü For interns, some of the 24 to 30 hours worked weekly will fall on Saturdays.
