Monitoring Program Specialist

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY

As a Monitoring Program Specialist, you will:

  • Request, review, and analyze documentation from facilities to evaluate and ensure their compliance on both quantitative and qualitative bases with established policies and procedures.
  • Observe and interview employees during monitoring visits, highlighting issues at facilities that require corrective action plans.
  • Assist the Division of Policy and Procedures with the design, development, and implementation of program/management policies, regulations, goals, and objectives.
  • Conduct formal monitoring visits, document observations, and make recommendations highlighting issues requiring corrective action plans.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Basic Qualifications: You must meet one of the items below:

Degree: behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

AND

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one year of specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:

  • Ensuring that children and/or unaccompanied alien children's programs and/or practices conform to regulations or agreements concerning minors in care.
  • Utilizing qualitative and/or quantitative techniques to analyze or measure data to prepare reports.
  • Establishing and/or providing training programs on children and/or unaccompanied alien children's issues.
  • Developing strategies, in collaboration with other teams, to resolve program areas of non-compliance and/or enhance program design.
