Science Facilitator (Ages 2-13, Part-Time, Weekdays)

Yes, the office is a giant STEM bus.

Some people commute to a cubicle. You'll pull up to an elementary school in a rolling science lab, swing open the doors, and watch hundreds of kids lose their minds over static electricity and plants.

GABIE Adventures brings hands-on science to schools and daycares across Miami-Dade County; agriculture, space, biology, chemistry, physics, math, and everything in between. We're science people who genuinely believe kids should walk away thinking science is the coolest thing they did all week. And we need presenters who can sell that.

This is the job where being too much is the whole point. Big voice. Big reactions. Sound effects encouraged. If you've ever been told you'd make a great kids' TV host, keep reading.

What you'd actually do

  • Perform short scripted STEM presentations (5–10 minutes of instruction, plus a 10-minute hands-on activity) for groups of up to 25 kids, and read the room well enough to dial it up or down for the age group in front of you.
  • Bring the energy. Hands-on demos, guided discussion, interactive stations. Your job is to be the most exciting part of their school day.
  • Keep the chaos fun. Manage student flow so every kid gets a turn and everyone stays safe.
  • Load in, load out. Set up and break down program materials at each visit.
  • Be our face. Represent GABIE professionally with teachers, staff, and administrators.

What we're looking for

  • Comfortable and confident speaking in front of a group full of kids
  • Able to memorize and deliver short presentations (5–10 minutes)
  • Energetic, expressive, personable, and reliable. Enthusiasm is the actual job requirement
  • Clean background check and eligibility to work with children in school settings
  • Reliable transportation and on-time arrival to schools across Miami-Dade county, with occasional trips to Lee and Collier Counties.
  • Able to lift and carry boxes up to 40 lbs
  • Weekday availability, typically 8:00am–3:00pm, 1–3 days per week. The average trip is 4.25 hours and the pay is $100 per trip.
  • Fluent in English; Spanish is a plus, not a requirement

No science degree required. If you've got the personality, we'll teach you the science.

The details

  • Pay: $100 per trip (average trip is 4.25 hours)
  • Schedule: Shifts usually run 4 hours between 8:00am and 3:00pm, typically 1–3 days per week. Some run longer or shorter depending on the season and the booking.
  • Flexibility: You accept or decline each booking based on your own availability. No set schedule, no guilt.
  • Support: Full training provided. Every lesson plan, script, and material is supplied. You just show up and bring the magic.

Great fit for education and STEM students, substitute teachers, performers, camp counselors, and anyone who lights up around kids.
