Staff IT Consultant - Internship

The Position

We are seeking a Staff IT Audit Consultant (Internship) who is a college student working toward a degree in Information Systems, Accounting, or Business Administration. You will work daily with Staff and Senior IT Audit Consultants to perform information technology security and compliance assessments for organizations within a variety of industry sectors. You will report to the Manager, Vice President and / or CEO. On certain strategic engagements, you will be responsible for working directly with the CEO. We are looking for an individual who is ambitious and motivated, committed to growing their career, has strong communication skills, and is personable and enjoys working with others. You will be jumping in with both feet, on our team, to help ensure the success of many organizations in the startup and growth markets. This role is autonomous in many responsibilities and tasks and requires the individual to effectively manage their time among multiple projects and communicate effectively with team members and clients to meet established deadlines on engagements. Engagements include, but are not limited to, System and Organization Controls (SOC) Examinations, PCI DSS Assessments, HIPAA and HITRUST Assessments, IT Audits in support of the financial audits, internal audit engagements, pre- and post-implementation assessments, and issuance of reports under the AICPA Consulting and Attestation Standards.

Responsibilities

1. Participate in planning activities to identify client needs / service opportunities in the areas of assurance, advisory, risk and compliance services.
2. Commit to high quality service delivery during the planning, execution, and reporting phases of information security assessment engagements.
3. Work with clients to execute the engagement, with a focus on leveraging industry and functional insights from our advisory business to bring greater value to client.
4. Design and execute high-quality, integrated, and efficient audit procedures.
5. Assist in and contribute towards robust audit methodology, working paper guidelines, quality review standards, and communication protocols.
6. Develop and execute on engagement audit programs and procedures.
7. Evaluate and document technical and process control configurations against industry and information security frameworks.
8. Contribute to streamlined control testing, to ensure effective and efficient operations.
9. Create and implement audit strategy to evaluate internal controls for significant applications relevant to financial audits.
10. Prepare and communicate findings, risks, and recommendations to client leadership, including on-going insights on corrective action plans.
11. Involvement in identifying potential clients and generating leads for future engagement.
12. Adhere to all quality standards and processes including the firm’s independence requirements for the engagement of clients, sales opportunities and submission of proposal and contract documents.
