Infant/Toddler Teacher

Kingston Academy is looking for a nurturing, dependable, and experienced Infant/Toddler Teacher to join our team in Jurupa Valley.

This is a full-time, Monday-through-Friday position caring for children ages 6 weeks through 24 months. Compensation is $19–$22 per hour, based on education, qualifications, and licensed classroom experience.

About Kingston Academy

At Kingston Academy, we believe that knowledge itself is power and that the foundation for learning begins during a child’s earliest years.

Our Infant/Toddler Program provides a warm and nurturing environment where children feel safe, loved, understood, and supported. We respect each child’s unique personality, needs, routines, culture, and developmental journey.

We are looking for a teacher who shares our belief that infants and toddlers learn through responsive relationships, meaningful interactions, creativity, exploration, and play.

About the Role

Our Infant/Toddler Teacher will provide attentive and individualized care while creating a safe, peaceful, engaging, and developmentally appropriate classroom.

Daily responsibilities include:

• Building secure, trusting relationships with infants and toddlers
• Following each child’s individual feeding, diapering, sleeping, and care routines
• Preparing and providing bottles, meals, and snacks according to written instructions
• Following all infant safe-sleep and active-supervision requirements
• Comforting children and responding patiently to their individual cues
• Planning sensory, language, movement, music, art, and play-based learning experiences
• Observing and documenting children’s development, routines, interests, and milestones
• Completing accurate daily reports for bottles, meals, diapers, naps, and activities
• Communicating warmly and professionally with families
• Keeping the classroom, toys, cribs, feeding materials, and diapering areas clean and sanitized
• Working cooperatively and respectfully with co-teachers and administration
• Following Kingston Academy policies and California Community Care Licensing requirements
• Understanding and fulfilling all mandated-reporter responsibilities

What We Are Looking For

At Kingston Academy, we typically hire teachers whose education and classroom experience go beyond the minimum licensing requirements.

Qualified applicants should have:

• More than 12 completed semester units in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
• At least 3 completed semester units specifically related to infant and toddler care
• At least one full year of experience working in a licensed childcare-center classroom
• Direct experience caring for infants or toddlers in a licensed group setting
• The ability to provide transcripts verifying completed coursework
• Knowledge of infant development, responsive caregiving, safe-sleep practices, positive guidance, and classroom health and safety
• Reliable full-time availability Monday through Friday
• Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and documentation skills
• The patience, attentiveness, and emotional presence needed to care for infants and toddlers

Applicants must also be able to meet applicable childcare licensing requirements, including background clearances, health and TB clearances, required immunizations, and mandated-reporter training. Pediatric CPR and First Aid certification is required or must be obtained as a condition of employment.

A California Child Development Permit, additional ECE coursework, and bilingual English/Spanish skills are welcomed but not required.

Why This Work Matters

Infant and toddler teachers do much more than manage daily routines. Every bottle, diaper change, story, song, comforting moment, and playful interaction is an opportunity to build trust and support a child’s development.

We are looking for someone who will treat every child with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect while building positive relationships with families and coworkers.

If you want to help our youngest learners feel safe, confident, curious, and excited to learn, we would be happy to hear from you.

Please submit a current résumé. Candidates selected to move forward will be asked to provide transcripts verifying their ECE/CD and infant/toddler coursework.
