Peer Academic Success Coach
Peer Success Coaches play an important role in carrying out the mission of the Center for Academic Belonging & Learning Excellence (ABLE) at Utah State University. Peer Success Coaches engage in 1 on 1 meetings with undergraduate students and help them to have the best college experience possible. In these meetings, Peer Success Coaches provide support and act as a source of accountability for students. While a wide range of topics can be discussed in coaching sessions, coaching addresses two primary issues: 1) the student’s sense of academic belonging and success and 2) the student’s development of habits of mind or executive function skills such as: time management, organization, utilization of campus resources, self-care, emotional intelligence, and resiliency.
