After-School Gymnastics Instructor

Location: San Jose, CA
Program: After-School Gymnastics
Position Type: Part-Time
Schedule: Thursdays, 2:50-3:50 PM
Compensation: $45-$65 per session (depending on experience)

About the Role

We’re looking for an energetic and engaging Gymnastics Instructor to lead after-school classes for elementary students in San Jose. This program introduces students to age-appropriate gymnastics fundamentals through movement, balance, coordination, flexibility, and skill-building activities.

You’ll create a positive and encouraging environment where students can stay active, build confidence, and develop new skills while learning proper technique and safe movement practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging, age-appropriate gymnastics activities.
  • Teach foundational movement, balance, coordination, flexibility, and gymnastics skills.
  • Demonstrate exercises and techniques clearly and safely.
  • Encourage confidence, participation, teamwork, and perseverance.
  • Adapt activities for different experience and ability levels.
  • Maintain a safe, structured, and positive class environment.
  • Prepare and organize equipment before and after each session.
  • Communicate professionally with school staff and program coordinators.
  • Provide consistent communication and brief after-class session updates.

Requirements

  • Experience working with elementary-aged children.
  • Experience with gymnastics, movement instruction, coaching, or a related activity.
  • Strong classroom/group management and communication skills.
  • Comfortable leading active group instruction.
  • Reliable, punctual, organized, and professional.
  • Must maintain clear and timely communication with the program team.
  • Ability to commit to the assigned Fall 2026 schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience teaching or coaching gymnastics to children.
  • Background in gymnastics, physical education, kinesiology, coaching, dance, or a related field.
  • Experience leading after-school, camp, recreation, or youth programs.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
