We're looking for an enthusiastic American Sign Language (ASL) Instructor to introduce students to ASL through an engaging, interactive, and inclusive learning experience.

Students will build foundational signing skills while developing an appreciation for communication, accessibility, and Deaf culture. Through hands-on activities, conversations, games, and real-world scenarios, you'll help make ASL practical, approachable, and fun.

Curriculum guidance and instructional support are provided, so you can focus on connecting with students and creating an engaging classroom experience.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead engaging and interactive ASL classes
• Introduce students to foundational signs, vocabulary, fingerspelling, and conversational skills
• Teach practical signs and phrases students can use in everyday situations
• Help students practice signing through games, activities, conversations, and interactive exercises
• Introduce age-appropriate concepts related to Deaf culture, accessibility, and inclusive communication
• Demonstrate signs clearly and provide supportive, constructive feedback
• Encourage students to practice without worrying about making mistakes
• Adapt instruction to different learning styles, abilities, and levels of experience
• Create a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment
• Encourage curiosity, participation, and confidence
• Monitor student progress and celebrate student accomplishments
• Maintain an organized and positive classroom environment
• Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
• Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to make ASL an enjoyable experience

You don't need to be a traditional classroom teacher. We're looking for someone who can make ASL engaging, approachable, and meaningful.

• Strong proficiency in American Sign Language
• Genuine passion for ASL, communication, accessibility, or Deaf culture
• Ability to demonstrate and explain signs clearly
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Patience, enthusiasm, and an encouraging personality
• Ability to lead and engage a group of students
• Comfort adapting instruction to different learners
• Reliable, organized, and professional work habits
• Respect for Deaf culture and inclusive communication practices

Prior experience in ASL instruction, interpreting, Deaf education, teaching, tutoring, mentoring, camps, or youth programs is a plus—but not required.
