Film Installer Trainee

Build a career with a 30+ year old company that invests in you from day one.
We’re a small, specialized team that services commercial/residential clients for all their solar, safety and decorative film needs. As a Trainee, you’ll get paid, hands-on training, clear growth milestones, and a realistic path to become a Film installer in about 12–18 months—depending on your motivation, skills, and willingness to learn.

Why you’ll want to work here

  • Structured 30‑60‑90 day onboarding so you’re not thrown in the deep end
  • One‑on‑one training with experienced techs and exposure to real customer sites.
  • Growth path to Film installer with increasing responsibility and pay.
  • Tight‑knit team where your reliability, attitude, and ideas really do matter.

We treat hiring and retention with the same urgency as sales and customer service. That means we respond quickly to applicants, communicate clearly during the process, and use simple tools/automation to keep you informed every step of the way (no “black hole” applications).

What you’ll do

  • Assist Installers with film prep, site prep, glass cleaning, installation, and site cleanup.
  • Work primarily on commercial customer(construction) sites with occasional residential installs as well.
  • Prep work in the shop for the next day’s jobs, handle miscellaneous shop tasks, and keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Represent the company professionally on customer sites by being courteous, reliable, and solution‑oriented.
  • Act as a liaison with customer contacts and other interested parties on the job site.

What it’s really like day to day

  • Early starts: you’ll often leave from our Loves Park shop in the early morning.
  • Travel: expect up to about 3+ hours of driving per day to and from job sites.
  • Heights: comfortable using ladders and working on scaffolding.
  • Schedule: primarily weekdays, with occasional weekend and night work when needed.
  • Environment: commercial businesses where you’ll wear PPE often and follow safety procedures closely.

What we’re looking for

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Clear background check
  • Bonus: any window film or contractor experience.
  • Self‑starter who arrives on time(early), can work with minimal supervision, manages time well, and takes ownership of tasks.
  • Clear, respectful communicator who understands they represent the company on every job.

How we hire

We keep our hiring process as simple and fast as possible:

  • Quick application (you can attach a resume or list your experience).
  • Short phone screen so we can both confirm it’s a good fit.
  • In‑person interview and shop visit so you can see the work environment.
  • Job offers with clear expectations about training, schedule, and growth path.

We use basic automation tools to make sure you get timely updates, reminders, and next steps—but the actual decisions are made by people who will work with you, not software.
