Social Media Intern
We’re building the world’s best spending companion.
Most apps treat money like a math problem. We think it's a feeling problem. We're a companion that lives in your texts and helps people make better decisions in the moment before the purchase, not after the regret. No app to download. No budget to build. Just a smart friend in your corner, especially for the people traditional finance has always ignored. We're early, we're small, and we're building something that doesn't exist yet.
The Role
We're looking for our Social Media Intern. Part creator, part culture radar. You'll be the face of Spence on TikTok and IG, posting every single day: street interviews, "should I buy this" bits, texting-Spence POVs, whatever makes someone stop scrolling.
This is not a "draft captions and wait for approval" internship. This is phone out, camera on, posted by lunch. You'll ship relentlessly, read what hits, kill what doesn't, and turn the wins into formats we run again and again. You'll be the talent, the editor, and the analyst, figuring out Spence's voice in public.
What You’ll Do
-
Make videos every day
- Create content and post daily on Spence's TikTok and IG
- Understand and be able to capture trends and trending content
- Be comfortable being on camera most of the time: talking to the lens, street interviews, "should I buy this" bits, texting-Spence POVs, whatever you dream up
- Own the whole pipeline: idea in the morning, shot by noon, posted that afternoon
- Try anything. Weird formats, dumb jokes, trends the day they break. No idea is too out there to test once
-
Understand performance
- Watch hooks, watch time, comments, and shares on everything you post
- Double down on what hits, kill what doesn't, no ego about it
- Keep a running read on what Gen Z is buying, who convinced them, and how money talk is shifting online, then turn it into tomorrow's videos
- Similarly, understand Gen Z money and financial trends, who they look to, what they value, and how they spend and save
What Success Looks Like
- Strangers are commenting and sharing, not just our friends and investors
- Two or three repeatable formats that get views without anyone assigning them
- 100+ videos posted, with a clear read on what worked and why
- We can convert the best organic hooks and videos into paid ads
- We know which formats actually get people texting Spence, not just watching
Who You Are
- You film your own TikToks
- You're comfortable on camera and in public. Stopping strangers for a street interview sounds fun, not terrifying
- You already post. We care about taste and reps
- You ship fast and don't get precious.A flop is data, not a crisis, and the next new idea is always around the corner
- You clock trends the day they break, not the week after
- You text the group chat, friends, family, etc before buying anything (this is literally our product)
- You have an instinct for aesthetics and vibe and know what's cool before brands do
- You aren't afraid to DM creators or pitch ideas
- You want real experience building a brand from scratch
Bonus if you…
- You run a finsta or meme page
- You made has ever randomly popped off
- You have built a vibe coded site or app as a feeder or lead gen into another app
What You'll Gain
- Direct experience helping build a modern consumer brand
- Exposure to creator marketing and product launches
- The chance to own real activations
- Mentorship from Spence leadership and proven founders
- A potential part-time role during the school year
- Opportunity to move into a full time role
How We'll Interview
- Send links to 2-3 videos you personally made. Doesn't matter if they got 20 views. We're looking at hooks, taste, and energy
- Screening call
- Onsite with the team + paid work trial: draft a brief and film a video on a phone over a day with us in-office
- Offer call within 48 hours
