🎨 Turn Creativity Into Something Students Can Hold
There’s something special about creating something with your own hands—and watching an idea transform from a simple lump of clay into something completely unique.
We’re looking for an enthusiastic Clay Sculpting Instructor to lead an engaging, hands-on art program this fall. You’ll introduce students to sculpting techniques while encouraging them to experiment, create, problem-solve, and express themselves through three-dimensional art.
Students will explore shaping, modeling, texture, form, character creation, and creative design while developing patience, fine-motor skills, spatial awareness, and artistic confidence.
This isn't about creating perfect sculptures. It's about giving students the freedom to create, experiment, and discover what they can make.
Whether you're an artist, sculptor, ceramics enthusiast, art student, educator, or creative professional, this is a great opportunity to share your passion while making a meaningful impact.
Curriculum guidance and instructional support are provided, so you can focus on teaching, mentoring, and creating an inspiring classroom experience.
👐 What You'll Do
- Lead engaging, hands-on Clay Sculpting classes
- Introduce students to fundamental sculpting and modeling techniques
- Demonstrate techniques for shaping, molding, joining, texturing, and detailing clay
- Guide students through creative projects, sculptures, figures, and three-dimensional designs
- Encourage students to experiment with different shapes, textures, forms, and ideas
- Help students develop their own creative concepts rather than simply copying examples
- Break down techniques into clear, approachable steps
- Provide individualized guidance and encouragement during hands-on projects
- Adapt instruction to different abilities, learning styles, and levels of artistic experience
- Create a positive, inclusive, and creativity-driven classroom environment
- Encourage patience, experimentation, problem-solving, and artistic confidence
- Monitor student progress and celebrate creative accomplishments
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe classroom environment
- Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
- Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to make every class a memorable creative experience
🌟 What We're Looking For
You don't need to be a professional art teacher. We're looking for someone who loves creating and can make students excited to explore their own creativity.
We're looking for someone with:
- Strong interest or experience in clay sculpting, ceramics, sculpture, fine arts, crafts, or hands-on creative work
- Ability to demonstrate basic sculpting and modeling techniques
- Creativity and enthusiasm for working with students
- Patience and an encouraging approach to instruction
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lead and engage a group
- Comfort working with hands-on materials
- Reliable, organized, and professional work habits
- Willingness to follow structured curriculum while bringing your own creativity into the classroom
Prior experience in art instruction, sculpture, ceramics, teaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or creative workshops is a plus—but not required.
