About the Position:
YAI has an opening for a full-time Bilingual (Spanish) Social Worker within our Queens Kew Gardens, NY site. The position at YAI provides the opportunity to gain exposure and experience working within the Queens Crisis Intervention Team and other professionals at YAI.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide in person intake/home visits to assess service needs and provide needed services.
- Treats people we support with disabilities related to the areas identified in intake, such as, case management and crisis counseling in the home.
- Facilitate Parent Support Groups.
- Participates in interdisciplinary care planning for people we support and their families.
- Participate in utilization/quality assurance reviews.
- Provide presentation on YAI Crisis Intervention within and outside of agency.
- Perform responsibilities as they currently exist or may change in meeting the needs of the department.
Education and Experience:
- MSW required; ideally planning to obtain LMSW.
- Experience with I/DD population preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
