West Learning Center Principal

Salary/Pay Scale

$90,000 Per BMA Contract

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Principal of the West Learning Center will be responsible for all students and staff in the Alternative High School, Reclaim 6:1+1, and Crossroads 8:1+1 programs. The principal will be expected to demonstrate positive leadership skills, strong interpersonal skills, and content-specific knowledge related to instructional practices for students with disabilities, as well as at-risk high school students in grades 9-12. The principal will work collaboratively with parents/guardians, component school district personnel, and community partners to ensure positive educational outcomes for all students in an equitable manner.

The West Learning Center Principal will also carry out the Broome-Tioga BOCES Mission, Vision, and Core Values, and will follow a visionary model with strategic planning initiatives.

The principal will assume additional responsibilities as assigned.

REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• NYS Certification in School District Administration (SBL, SDA, SAS)
• Knowledge of Positive Behavior Intervention, Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, Trauma-Informed Practices, and Restorative Practices, is preferred
• A minimum of 3 years of teaching or related experience. Knowledge of special education regulations and
  policy/procedures preferred
