Position Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, person-centered Job Coach to provide direct, 1:1 support to adults with developmental disabilities in community settings. In this role, you will help individuals achieve their unique personal goals surrounding integrated employment, post-secondary education, volunteer work, micro-enterprise, and independent living. Unlike traditional facility-based adult day programs, Tailored Day Services are fully individualized, flexible, and driven entirely by the participant's specific career and personal aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

  • 1:1 Vocational & Educational Coaching: Provide individualized, community-based support to help clients explore career paths, search for jobs, build resume/interview skills, navigate college campuses, or develop micro-enterprises.
  • Community Integration & Volunteerism: Identify and facilitate meaningful community opportunities, volunteer positions, and self-advocacy activities tailored to each participant's strengths and interests.
  • Skill Acquisition & Life Skills: Assist participants in developing functional independence, self-care, and self-advocacy skills necessary for community integration and employment success.
  • Documentation & Tracking: Maintain precise, timely records of daily service hours, client progress toward Individual Program Plan (IPP) goals, and incident reports.
  • Safe Transportation: Safely transport clients to and from job sites, classes, volunteer opportunities, and community-based activities.

Qualifications

  • Preferred Candidates: Currently enrolled college students (Psychology, Social Work, Special Education, Human Services, or related fields).
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Experience: Background with developmental disabilities, tutoring, or camp counseling preferred.
  • Skills: Strong communication, time-management, and ability to work independently in the community.
  • Requirements: Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, clean DMV record, and ability to pass a background check. CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
