About NovaChat

NovaChat is building AI infrastructure for the creator economy.

Our systems operate in production, interact with real customers at scale, and combine conversational AI, agentic decision-making, memory, automation, analytics, and messaging infrastructure.

In August alone, NovaChat has grown 333%, and we are entering a pivotal stage of product and engineering development.

We are hiring 3 AI Full-Stack Engineering Interns to join our engineering team for the Fall 2026 semester.

The Role

This is not a traditional internship built around observation, tutorials, or isolated intern projects.

You will work directly alongside engineers with years of experience building and iterating on production AI systems.

You will be expected to contribute to real systems, solve real engineering problems, and ship work into production.

Depending on your strengths, you may work across:

Production conversational AI and multi-agent systems

LLM orchestration and decision systems

Memory and RAG architecture

Full-stack product development

APIs and third-party platform integrations

High-volume messaging infrastructure

Analytics and internal tooling

Reliability, latency, and AI inference optimization

Automation systems

Production debugging, testing, and deployment

You won't spend the semester building a demo that gets thrown away.

You will build alongside the core team.

What We're Looking For

Strong full-stack engineering ability

Exceptional proficiency with Claude Code and AI-assisted development

Experience actually building and shipping software

Strong understanding of modern web development

Ability to move extremely fast without sacrificing engineering quality

High ownership and independence

Strong product intuition

Obsessive problem solving

Ability to learn unfamiliar systems quickly

Comfortable operating in a fast-moving and sometimes ambiguous environment

We care significantly more about what you can build than how many technologies you can list on a résumé.

Engineering Standard

NovaChat is at a pivotal point in its development, and our engineering standard is extremely high.

We're looking for students who want exposure to what building applied AI systems actually looks like outside of the classroom: production constraints, real users, imperfect data, scaling problems, rapid iteration, and constant technical decision-making.

Anything less than extraordinary will not be enough for this role.

You should be capable of eventually taking work from:

Problem → Architecture → Implementation → Testing → Production

You will have support from the engineering team, but you should not require someone to walk you through every step.

Requirements

Available 25–30 hours per week

Available for the Fall internship period from August 21 – December 21, 2026

Prior experience with Claude Code or comparable AI development tools

Demonstrated software development experience through projects, internships, startups, open-source work, or independent development

Consistent communication and availability

Comfortable receiving direct technical feedback and iterating quickly

Strong interest in applied AI and production software engineering

What You'll Gain

This role is designed to provide unusually deep exposure to production AI engineering.

You'll spend the semester working with experienced AI engineers, understanding how production systems are architected, seeing how technical decisions affect real customers, and shipping software rather than simply studying it.

Successful interns will also be considered for a position on NovaChat's core engineering team following the internship.

Compensation

This is an unpaid internship for the Fall 2026 semester.
