Communications Coordinator

COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

Trinity Church is one church with six locations across the globe, averaging around 2,200 each Sunday for in-person attendance. 

+ Position Description

Trinity’s Communications Coordinator is someone with a mature, vibrant, and deep love for Jesus Christ who is passionate about helping Trinity Church communicate clearly, consistently, and effectively across all campuses and ministries. This person coordinates communication initiatives, creative projects, and creative assets while partnering with the Creative Director, ministry leaders, and the Creative Team to advance the mission of Trinity Church. The Communications Coordinator works closely with the Creative Director to execute Trinity’s creative vision, communication priorities, and ministry initiatives while ensuring effective systems and processes are in place. The ideal candidate is an experienced communicator, strong writer, and highly organized project manager who can steward Trinity’s messaging, systems, and creative processes to ensure communication remains engaging, unified, and on-brand across multiple platforms.

+ Areas of Focus

Creative Project Management

  • Attend weekly Creative Team meetings.
  • Maintain Creative Team workflows in Asana.
  • Assist the Creative Director in managing Creative Team promotion plans and projects.
  • Prompt ministries to submit promotion plans in a timely manner according to yearly blueprint plans and the Trinity Church global calendar.
  • Assign incoming Creative Requests to team members.
  • Coordinate project timelines and organize due dates according to each team member’s workload.
  • Keep Trinity staff informed of communication plans and project progress.
  • Budget Creative Central Office print needs, gather quotes from outside vendors, and order project materials as needed.
  • Occasionally assist the Videographer with pre-production planning, including filming schedules, securing locations, and coordinating talent.
  • Oversee the distribution of digital and physical deliverables.

Communications Steward

  • Serve as a key communications resource, helping Trinity maintain clear, unified, and engaging messaging across all campuses and ministries.
  • Ensure all church communications move people toward spiritual next steps.
  • Equip ministry leaders with communication best practices.
  • Collaborate with staff members and volunteer leaders to communicate announcements, updates, and important information clearly and effectively.
  • Ensure Trinity’s written communication maintains a warm, welcoming, and on-brand voice across digital and printed platforms.
  • Partner with the Creative Director to maintain and strengthen Trinity’s voice, messaging, and storytelling.
  • Provide consistency and organization across Trinity’s communication platforms.
  • Support staff members in Canva template editing and usage.
  • Maintain Trinity’s Writing Manual and communication standards.

Content Creation & Digital Communications

  • Participate in the creative process by crafting written communication for ministry initiatives and church-wide projects.
  • Collaborate with the Videographer and staff members to write engaging video host scripts for weekly announcements and special initiatives.
  • Manage announcement schedules and write weekly stage host scripts for Trinity’s weekend services.
  • Assist in developing clear and engaging messaging for events, campaigns, and ministry opportunities throughout the year.
  • Write and schedule Central Office church-wide emails through MailChimp.
  • Maintain consistency and organization across digital communication platforms.

Website, Events & Brand Management

  • Update the website with event highlights that have the greatest impact.
  • Keep website content and imagery current using Wix.
  • Manage Canva templates and maintain brand consistency across staff-created materials.

As Needed

  • Edit and update video scripts, books, handouts, and other printed materials using Adobe InDesign.
  • Proofread and edit written materials for clarity, grammar, and consistency.

+ Minimum Requirements / Critical Skills

  • Possess strong written communication skills with the ability to write in a clear, engaging, creative, and welcoming tone.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and proofreading ability.
  • Ability to anticipate potential issues and proactively develop solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace.
  • Experience with MailChimp or similar email marketing software.
  • Familiarity with Wix website editing software and Adobe InDesign.
  • Proficiency in Canva.
  • Ability to maintain consistency with Trinity Church’s communication style and brand standards.

+ Preferred Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in church communications, marketing, creative project management, or administrative roles.
  • Experience writing scripts, announcements, or promotional copy.
  • Familiarity with project management and communication workflows.
  • Basic understanding of graphic design principles.

+ Expectations

The Communications Coordinator will…

  • Work an average of 40 hours per week, including occasional Sundays depending on church event schedules.
  • Attend weekly Creative Team meetings and brainstorming sessions.
  • Report directly to the Creative Director to execute Trinity’s communication priorities and creative initiatives.
  • Collaborate with other members of Trinity’s staff.
  • Office at the Oceanfront Campus, with flexibility to work remotely when appropriate.
  • Become a member of Trinity Church and actively participate in the life of the church.
  • Support the leadership decisions of the Elder Board and participate in regular performance reviews.
  • Pursue a strong spiritual life, including Christ-centered growth and development, a consistent commitment to prayer and Scripture, and active participation in the Trinity Church community.
  • Receive compensation, benefits, and necessary resources such as computers, supplies, and office space from Trinity.
