Construction Management Internship
Our Construction Management Internship is a phenomenal way to gain exposure to four different departments that are crucial to our success as a Mechanical Contractor: Estimating, Project Management, BIM Design and Field Operations. The goal of this internship is to have our interns shadow, assist, and work with many team members, leaving you with better clarity about your own future career in construction management.
Not only is this a great opportunity to learn and observe, but also to begin thinking critically, collaborating with leaders, and performing some of the work independently. Interns should feel encouraged to be vocal, ask questions, and take on responsibility. The breakdown below is a snapshot of potential tasks our interns will engage with:
Estimating:
- Take Off: fixture count
- Vendor contacts
- Subcontractor communications
- Mechanical equipment identification
Project Management:
- RFIs & Submittals
- Pay applications
- Subcontractor invoicing & lien waivers
- Purchase orders
BIM Design:
- Draw mechanical equipment families (REVIT)
- Breakup mechanical designs into assemblies for prefabrication (Stratus)
- Using our tools and software to take scans of jobsites to be modeled for Prefabrication
Field Operations:
- Shadowing our 6 superintendents as they walk a variety of jobs in size and scope
- Observing how Prefabrication increases our capacity
