After School Staff
The Siena School in Oakton, VA, seeks a dedicated after school staff member to supervise students from 3:00-6:00 pm Monday through Friday. We are looking for a highly collaborative individual who believes in students who learn differently and is able to build positive relationships within a warm and supportive environment.
The Siena School prepares bright, college-bound students with language-based learning differences, such as dyslexia, to become confident, curious learners who understand their personal strengths and gain the tools and strategies to excel. Our after school program creates space for students to complete their homework and to engage in creative activities where they can socialize with peers. The after school team includes three adults who support students with organization as they complete homework and nurture an environment of fun and positivity.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the school’s mission and culture, promoting a positive, inclusive school climate
- Through a restorative justice lens, support student adherence to school expectations
- Establish and maintain good relationships with varying stakeholders
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with families
- Communicate with faculty and staff as needed
- Complete paperwork documenting attendance & coordinate with business office
- Maintain Virginia med tech certification and first aid training and undertake these responsibilities on a daily basis
- Willingness to be trained to drive the small school bus is preferred

Salary Information: The position is compensated at $20 per hour. This is a part-time hourly, non-benefits eligible position.

Moderate physical work is required for this position including frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and reaching. Must have the ability to lift, carry, push or pull equipment/boxes that weigh up to 10 pounds. Must be able to speak clearly and understand the speech of others.
