Social Media & Creative Intern
First Presbyterian is seeking a creative, self-motivated, and spiritual Social Media Intern to help expand our digital presence across multiple social media platforms. This internship provides hands-on experience capturing key moments in the life of the church, creating engaging content, covering significant events, and helping connect potential visitors and community members.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and publish engaging content for Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
- Design graphics, reels, and short-form videos highlighting church events, leadership, church groups, and worship services.
- Take photographs to document the life of the church and highlight our worship spaces.
- Write captions, headlines, and promotional copy that drive congregation and community engagement. (Not required to respond to comments or messages).
- Track and report social media analytics on a monthly basis.
- Collaborate with Senior Pastor Kati Collins and UKIRK (college ministry) leadership.
- Develop a consistent brand voice and aesthetic across all digital platforms.
- With church leaderships, generate a social calendar and schedule content in advance.
- Meet bi-weekly with Senior Pastor on content
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
This flexible hybrid role offers students the opportunity to film content on-site and edit videos and create social media content remotely. Evening and weekend hours will be required as needed based on the church calendar.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Basic graphic design, photography and video editing skills (Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut, or similar tools).
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Experience managing social media platforms for content creation and audience engagement.
- Stays current on social media trends across social media platforms
- Excellent time management skills
- Responsible, self-directed person who can work efficiently and independently
- Individuals with a PCUSA or similar denominational connection, a plus!
