The Role
We are staffing a new enterprise data center in Denver. As an Infrastructure Apprentice, you will support physical and virtual server, storage, and network environments. This position operates on a shift schedule and includes on-call responsibilities to ensure continuous facility operations.
Core Responsibilities
Hardware & Infrastructure Management
Troubleshoot hardware failures using power resets, hands-on support, and crash cart connectivity.
Rack, cable, and decommission server and network equipment.
Dispose of retired equipment and hard drives; reclaim and store viable cabling.
Coordinate with Third-Party Maintenance and vendors for hardware warranty replacements (power supplies, failed components).
Maintain cabling inventory trackers and coordinate new procurements.
Manage shipping and receiving for equipment moving to and from the data center.
Facility Operations & Monitoring
Monitor system integrity, server resources, and environmental/electrical systems.
Escort personnel and vendors during outages, equipment failures, or installations.
Coordinate facility maintenance efforts affecting the data center space.
Submit and track change requests for all maintenance events prior to execution.
Maintain data center cleanliness and organization.
Administration & IT Service Management
Execute tasks and respond to notifications using ITSM tools (ServiceNow, SolarWinds, Nlyte).
Support Disaster Recovery activities directed by application owners and Data Integrity teams.
Document technical processes, procedures, and infrastructure inventory.
Report project status and provide weekly work summaries.
Complete other Systems, Network, and OS administration tasks as directed.
