Salary: £37,870 per annum – Outer London M1
Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Are you an enthusiastic Early Career Teacher ready to begin your career in Early Years? ConnECT is recruiting an Early Career Teacher (EYFS) for a welcoming primary school in Barnet from September 2026.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive school where early career development is taken seriously. You will work alongside experienced teachers and senior leaders who will help you build confidence, strengthen your classroom practice and progress successfully through your ECT years.
The role
As an Early Career Teacher in EYFS, you will create a safe, engaging and stimulating learning environment where children can develop socially, emotionally and academically. You will use play-based learning and purposeful activities to support children through the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Key responsibilities
• Plan and deliver creative EYFS lessons and learning activities.
• Create an inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
• Assess children’s progress and maintain accurate learning records.
• Support pupils with different learning needs, including SEN.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, colleagues and families.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and early development.
• Take part in staff training, meetings and wider school activities.
Requirements
• Qualified Teacher Status, or expected QTS before September 2026.
• A recognised UK teaching qualification.
• Recent EYFS teaching experience gained through training or placements.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework.
• A caring, creative and reflective approach to teaching.
• A commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.
