Social Media Campaign + Marketing Intern
Position Overview: We are seeking a motivated and creative part-time Social Media Campaign + Marketing Intern for Sept 2026-August 2027, to help enhance our non-profit’s online presence and engage our community. Working with the Director of Engagement + Volunteerism this role will focus on developing strategies to encourage donations and volunteering through effective social media campaigns.
- Compensation for this position:$20/hr
- Hour per week: 10 hours

As a community impact organization, we tackle the root causes of poverty and socioeconomic inequality through strategic services, partnerships, and civic engagement. Our focus areas—educational achievement, access to healthy food, safe communities, and financial empowerment—are essential building blocks for a better quality of life. To achieve our mission, UWPC implements and manages several programs aimed at improving health, income, and education in Passaic County.
Key Requirements:

Educational Background:
- Currently enrolled in or graduated with a degree program in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.

Social Media Proficiency:
- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok, LinkedIn, etc.) and their respective best practices.
- Understanding of current social media trends and tools.
- Understanding of how to schedule content for posting

Content Creation Skills:
- Ability to create engaging and visually appealing content, including graphics, short form videos, and written posts.
- Experience with design tools (e.g., Canva…)

Writing and Communication:
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to craft compelling captions/copy that resonate with diverse audiences.
- Ability to communicate our mission and impact clearly and effectively.

Analytical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of social media analytics and metrics to evaluate the performance of campaigns and content.
- Ability to use insights to inform future strategies.

Campaign Development:
- Experience in developing social media marketing campaigns that promote and inspire engagement, volunteering, and donations.
- Creativity in brainstorming and implementing new ideas for outreach.

Team Collaboration:
- Willingness to work collaboratively with Director of Events + Volunteerism to align social media efforts with overall organizational goals.

- Passion for community service
- A desire to support the UWPC’s mission.

Time Management:
- Ability to multi-task social media campaigns and manage deadlines effectively.
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of initiative.
- Availability:
- This is primarily a virtual position, with in-person meetings once a week on Wednesdays; however, this schedule is flexible
- Flexibility to work part-time (10 hours/week) and willingness to attend occasional events or meetings (including, but not limited to)
- Scholastic Book Fair- 2 days week of Sept. 21 and a week in 2 days in November
- Women United Fundraiser Luncheon- Oct 22nd
- Winter Wishes Drive- 2 days week of Dec.7
- VITA site- a couple days in February/ March
- Backpacks Drive- first or second week of August
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous internship or volunteer experience in social media marketing, communications, or non-profit work.
- Basic knowledge of SEO and digital marketing principles.
- Team player with a positive attitude
