Video Editor Intern

Job Summary

Veterans Yoga Project is seeking a creative and detail-oriented video editor intern to assist with editing existing recordings of online class videos, Veteran testimonials, and creating social media content. This is a unique opportunity to gain real-world experience in a specialized area while earning credits towards a degree program and supporting the Veteran Community. This internship will provide hands-on experience in non-profit marketing and digital media while allowing students to contribute to a mission that improves lives.

 As an intern, you will help drive awareness of and expand access to our free classes for Veterans, their families, and the Military community. Students can expect to strengthen skills in video editing, project management, process improvement, and social media content creation.  In addition to editing videos, the video editor intern will be responsible for developing standardized processes to manage and maintain VYP’s video archive.   

Primary Responsibilities

  • Video editing for the VYP Online Practice Library
  • Editing video testimonials and creating testimonial compilations
  • Uploading and publishing videos to VYP's YouTube Channel for the Practice Library
  • Creating social media reels for VYP's social media channels
  • Creating a proposal for better organizing the Practice Library by category on YouTube
  • Creating SOPs for:
  1. Creating the best (written and video) testimonials and guidelines for permissible use including securing authorizations.
  2. Uploading approved videos to YouTube
  3. Creating an organized video archive on VYP's Google Drive

Participation Requirements

  • Attend bi-weekly check-ins with intern supervisors
  • Access to a laptop or desktop computer
  • Access to video editing software (e.g., DaVinci Resolve, Kapwing , CapCut)

How to Apply

  • Applicants advancing to the next stage of the selection process will complete a brief video editing exercise using footage provided by Veterans Yoga Project as part of the final evaluation process. 
  • Skill assessment includes clear audio, quality visuals, branding, timestamps, and Zoom fixes where applicable.
