Overview:

EdgeBrook Farm is a New Jersey farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. EdgeBrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for the Agricultural Science Internship [NJ Farm Project] to support projects involving crop production, soil and plant science, agricultural research, sustainability, and farm management practices.

This internship provides practical experience applying agricultural science concepts to real-world farming operations. Participants will have opportunities to assist with agricultural research, collect and analyze farm data, evaluate production practices, and contribute to projects focused on improving productivity, sustainability, and overall farm performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with agricultural research related to crops, soil, plants, and farm production.
  • Support the collection, organization, and analysis of agricultural and environmental data.
  • Help monitor crop growth, plant health, soil conditions, and other factors affecting production.
  • Research agricultural practices, technologies, and developments relevant to farm operations.
  • Assist with evaluating crop-production and soil-management practices.
  • Support projects related to sustainable agriculture and responsible resource use.
  • Help identify factors that may influence agricultural productivity and farm performance.
  • Assist with documenting observations, research findings, and project results.
  • Prepare research summaries, reports, and other materials related to agricultural projects.
  • Collaborate with project leadership and other interns on agricultural science initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Agricultural Science, Plant Science, Crop Science, Soil Science, Agronomy, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Interest in agriculture, crop production, plant and soil science, sustainability, or agricultural research.
  • Strong research, analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic understanding of agricultural, biological, or environmental science concepts.
  • Familiarity with agricultural research, field data collection, crop monitoring, or soil analysis is a plus.
  • Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, data analysis, or agricultural research tools is a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
