Overview:

EdgeBrook Farm is a New Jersey farm project providing interns with the opportunity to contribute to the development and improvement of a real agricultural operation. EdgeBrook Farm is seeking motivated candidates for the Agronomy Internship [NJ Farm Project] to support projects involving crop production, soil health, plant nutrition, field management, and sustainable agricultural practices.

This internship provides practical experience applying agronomic principles to real-world farming operations. Participants will have opportunities to research crop and soil conditions, collect and analyze agricultural data, evaluate crop-management practices, and contribute to projects focused on improving plant health, productivity, and sustainable land use.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with monitoring and evaluating crop growth, plant health, and field conditions.
• Support projects involving soil health, soil fertility, and plant nutrition.
• Help collect, organize, and analyze crop, soil, and environmental data.
• Research crop-management practices and current developments in agronomy.
• Assist with evaluating fertilizer, nutrient-management, and soil-management practices.
• Support research related to crop selection, planting, growth, and production.
• Help identify factors that may affect crop health, yield, and overall productivity.
• Research sustainable practices related to soil conservation and crop production.
• Assist with preparing research summaries, field observations, and project reports.
• Collaborate with project leadership and other interns on agronomy and crop-management initiatives.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Science, or a related field.
• Interest in crop production, soil health, plant nutrition, or sustainable agriculture.
• Strong research, analytical, observational, and problem-solving skills.
• Basic understanding of plant science, soil science, crop production, or agricultural systems.
• Familiarity with agricultural data collection, soil testing, crop monitoring, or field research is a plus.
• Experience with Excel, Google Sheets, GIS, or agricultural data tools is a plus.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively.
