Flagship Development Intern

Overview

Founded in 2002, Latinitas is a nonprofit organization focused on empowering girls and their communities through culturally relevant education. Latinitas is seeking an exceptional Flagship Development Intern to assist in the implementation of our programs. 

Join Latinitas as a Development Intern. We are seeking a motivated and passionate intern to join our Development Team. This is a valuable opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit development, fundraising, donor relations, and community engagement. 

The Development Intern will gain hands-on experience in fundraising strategy, outreach efforts, and volunteer and event coordination, while supporting our mission to provide access to culturally relevant education through STEAM. 

Interns will work closely with our Development staff and collaborate with other departments as needed. Weekly check-ins with the team will support your growth, ensure meaningful mentorship, and track the progress of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on prospective donors, sponsors, and grant opportunities 
  • Support development and execution of fundraising campaigns and appeals 
  • Assist with planning and logistics for donor and community events 
  • Contribute to local grant applications with research, data, and content 
  • Assist with engaging volunteers and supporters at events
  • Create or edit materials using tools like Google Workspace and Canva 
  • Reliable and detail-oriented, with a proactive and creative mindset 

Ideal Candidate

  • Passionate about youth development, education, and/or nonprofit program delivery
  • Strong communicator, team-oriented, and organized
  • Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Drive, Gmail, Slack
  • Energetic, creative, and enthusiastic about mentoring youth and/or adults
  • Reliable Transportation
