Clinical Psychologist (NYS License Required)

POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently recruiting a Psychologist for the WeCARE (Wellness, Comprehensive Assessment, Rehabilitation and Employment) Program in Brooklyn, NY. This full-time, part-time, or per diem/per assessment position pays $52.00 an hour and is located in Brooklyn, NY 11238. Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. This is an on-site position.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: WeCARE BROOKLYN
The Wellness, Comprehensive Assessment, Rehabilitation and Employment (WeCARE) Program provides a continuum of integrated services that evaluate the abilities and address the needs of Cash Assistance (CA) clients with medical and/or mental health condition(s) that may affect their employability.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
  • Psychological Evaluations: Conduct psychological evaluations and mental health screenings as part of the Clinical Assessment and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports, social histories, and clinical recommendations to determine Functional Capacity Outcomes (FCO) and assign participants to the appropriate service track (SSI/SSDI, Wellness, VRS).
  • Emergent Evaluations: Provide emergent psychological evaluations and safety recommendations for participants presenting suicidal, homicidal, or otherwise high-risk behaviors.
  • Documentation: Document all evaluations, consultations, and client interactions accurately and in a timely manner within the SEAMS case management system.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with Qualified Health Professionals and the Medical Director to ensure all required psychological assessments are completed daily and cases are finalized promptly.
  • Team Participation: Participate in team meetings and required training to improve assessment processes, including providing input on physician review forms and clinical procedures.
  • Language Access: Ensure evaluations are conducted in the participant's primary language whenever possible and in accordance with HRA and EWS policies.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • NYS Licensed Clinical Psychologist - required.
  • Minimum three years of experience conducting evaluations resulting in FCO determinations - preferred.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, performance-driven team environment.
  • Experience with publicly funded programs; TANF experience - preferred.
  • Strong time-management skills with demonstrated ability to complete evaluations and documentation under tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds.
  • Fluency in an additional language is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently; must be self-motivated.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.

Education and Experience:

  • Doctorate degree in Psychology (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) from an accredited institution - preferred.
  • Current New York State license as a Clinical Psychologist, required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience conducting psychological evaluations resulting in Functional Capacity Outcome (FCO) determinations, preferred.
  • Experience with publicly funded programs; TANF experience preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, however evening and weekend hours may be required.
  • On-site work in, Brooklyn, NY 11238.
  • Travel may be required.
