Immigration Intern
Immigration Intern (English/Spanish) — Part-Time or Full-Time, Miami Shores, FL (hybrid considered)
You work alongside our legal and marketing teams on real cases and real projects. You help prepare filings, research questions that come up on live matters, draft memos and client-facing materials, and keep case files and internal systems current.
This is not a shadowing internship. You would help prepare filings that go to the government, research questions that come up on live matters, and see how a case moves from consultation to approval, with an attorney explaining it as you go. A small firm gives you more responsibility at this stage than a large one would, and we arrange the schedule around your classes. If you are weighing law school, this is a direct look at what the work actually is.
The role is part-time or full-time, in person at our Miami Shores office, and a hybrid schedule is possible. Compensation is $18 to $20 per hour.
Responsibilities: Help prepare immigration applications and the documents that support them. Research business immigration and related litigation questions that come up on live matters. Draft internal memos and client-facing materials. Organize case files, update our internal systems, and track case milestones. Contribute to webinars, newsletters, and blog posts.
Qualifications: You are an undergraduate student or recent graduate with a genuine interest in immigration law. You research and write well for your level. You are curious, reliable, and organized. You are in or near Miami and available for in-office work; a hybrid schedule is possible. You are fully fluent in both English and Spanish, spoken and written — this is required.
HOW TO APPLY: To be considered, please complete our application here: https://careers.dewit.law/job?role=immigration-intern&utm_source=handshake — the application includes a short writing exercise and an attention-to-detail test, and it asks for your resume, a cover letter, and a one-minute introduction video. Writing samples are optional but encouraged. Applications completed through our portal are the ones our review team evaluates.
