Key Responsibilities

  • Shadow senior implementation team members during on-site installations of RFID readers, antennas, tags, and related equipment.
  • Assist with site surveys, inventory tagging, equipment documentation, and implementation checklists.
  • Support deployment activities, data reconciliation, testing, and quality-control reviews under a mentor’s supervision.
  • Provide supervised, first-line support for post-go-live issues, including tag-read problems and basic connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Document issues accurately and escalate technical matters to the appropriate implementation or support team member.
  • Maintain project records and assist with implementation status reports.
  • Help prepare training materials, reference guides, and other rollout resources for clinical, biomedical, and hospital staff.
  • Follow hospital safety, security, confidentiality, infection-control, and professional conduct requirements.
  • Protect confidential customer, operational, and system information.
  • Travel to assigned hospital locations throughout the Miami–Tampa service corridor as required.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in healthcare technology, technical implementation, or customer support.
  • Basic computer and troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts, including Wi-Fi, IP connectivity, and VLANs, is helpful but not required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow technical instructions, checklists, and established procedures carefully.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to interact professionally with hospital employees, clinical personnel, customers, and internal team members.
  • Ability to travel reliably to assigned hospital sites throughout the designated service area.
  • Ability to work independently when directed and collaborate effectively with a distributed implementation team.

Preferred Attributes

  • Prior internship, academic project, or hands-on experience involving IT support, networking, RFID, biomedical equipment, or healthcare technology.
  • Experience preparing documentation, tracking inventory, or performing data-quality reviews.
  • Comfortable asking questions, receiving feedback, and working under the direction of experienced technical professionals.
  • Flexible availability based on hospital implementation schedules.

What the Intern Will Gain

  • Practical experience implementing technology in hospital environments.
  • Exposure to RFID systems, healthcare workflows, networking, and technical troubleshooting.
  • Mentorship from experienced implementation and support professionals.
  • Experience with project documentation, customer support, training preparation, and quality assurance.
