Senior Mortgage Loan Processor

Job Summary:

The Senior Mortgage Loan Processor will perform a variety of clerical and technical duties to accurately assist mortgage applicants and clients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

  • None

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of available mortgage banking products, processing procedures and underwriting guidelines.
  • Maintain knowledge of Bank policies and procedures as well as department procedures and assume responsibility for staying aware of any changes.
  • Prepares or collects, maintains, organizes, files, records, and manages all documentation related to mortgage applications, real estate collateral, and insurance policies.
  • Handles inquiries and document requests from clients, realtors, and colleagues.
  • Works with local title companies to prepare final closing disclosure.
  • Alerts underwriter or other staff of any missing records, documents, or other irregularities in the mortgage application process.
  • Acquires the title insurance policy from the title company at closing.
  • Prepares closing files on consumer loans. 
  • Book and fund loans on banks core system.
  • Meet crucial deadlines as requested.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure a position of responsibility and trust by keeping all customer business confidential while adhering to all ethics policies required by the Bank.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrates initiative and commitment to continuous learning and the ability to adapt to change.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors Degree required.
  • 3-5 years mortgage processing experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of FHA, VA, Conventional, and USDA loans
  • Minimum age 18.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
