Younger Toddler Assistant

The Younger Toddler classroom at ENLA Learning serves children 12 to 18 months old, the window when walking and first words arrive. We staff this room at 1 educator to 4 children, tighter than the PA DHS state floor, so every adult has time to actually teach. The role

You join the Younger Toddler team as an Assistant Teacher, working beside a Teacher and a Lead Teacher who plan the curriculum and model the craft. Your work keeps the Montessori-inspired environment prepared and calm while you learn the profession from the inside. We are educators, not babysitters.

What you will do

• Help carry out lessons planned by the Teacher and Lead Teacher
• Prepare and reset the Montessori-inspired classroom through the day
• Supervise attentively, indoors and outdoors, every minute children are present
• Run transitions, meals, hygiene, rest, and outdoor time
• Engage warmly with children and greet families at drop-off and pickup
• Document observations as directed by your teaching team

What you will need

• High school diploma or GED (required)
• ECE coursework, a CDA in progress, or willingness to begin one (preferred)
• Prior experience with young children in any setting (preferred)
• Age 18 or older, the PA DHS minimum
• Patience and full attention, every day, for one-year-olds

Clearances (we track renewals and help you get current)

FBI fingerprint clearance (IdentoGO), PA State Police criminal background check (PATCH), PA Child Abuse History clearance, National Sex Offender Registry check, Pediatric CPR and First Aid, Mandated Reporter training certificate, and a physical exam with TB test within the last 2 years. New to the field? We will walk you through every step.

Pay and schedule

$20 to $22.50 per hour on the Assistant Teacher tier of the ENLA Learning salary scale, set by education and experience. Full time, in person. Shifts fall within our hours of operation, 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.
