Social Media Manager

JU STEM Academy is a premier tutoring and academic consulting company founded by Cornell University graduates with high honors and top test scores. We provide pre-med consulting, MCAT tutoring, and STEM tutoring to students navigating non-traditional and traditional paths toward medical school and STEM careers. 

We're looking for a creative, consistent, and detail-oriented Social Media Manager to grow our online presence and connect with prospective and current students across our platforms.

Responsibilities

The Social Media Manager will plan, create, and schedule content across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X, and Facebook, while maintaining a consistent posting cadence and content calendar, with content going out every other day across multiple platforms. This person will adapt content, through a mix of original and repurposed posts, to fit the tone, format, and best practices of each platform, and will monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and foster community interaction. They will track performance metrics and adjust content strategy based on what resonates, stay current on social media trends relevant to education, tutoring, and the pre-med and STEM audience, and collaborate with the JU STEM Academy team on messaging, promotions, and campaigns.

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with 1-2 years of prior social media management experience, though candidates with less than 6 months of experience will also be considered provided they can demonstrate relevant work samples or a portfolio. 

Candidates should have a strong understanding of content creation and best practices across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, Threads, X, and Facebook, be comfortable with short-form video creation and editing, and have excellent written communication skills. Candidates should be self-motivated and able to manage a consistent daily posting schedule independently. 

A pre-med or STEM background is strongly preferred, as is a prior portfolio or work samples showcasing platform-native content.

Compensation

This role includes a base rate plus an uncapped performance bonus, so pay grows directly with the results you help drive: new student enrollments generated through our social platforms. Candidates with under 6 months of experience (portfolio-backed) will receive $100 per month in base pay plus a $20 bonus per attributed enrollment. Candidates with 1-2 years of experience will receive $200 per month in base pay plus a $40 bonus per attributed enrollment. Enrollment bonuses are uncapped and tracked transparently through our free consultation booking form, cross-referenced with completed enrollments, so compensation reflects real, verified outcomes.
