Production Operator

Job Requirements for Production Operator Include:

  • Responsible for the operation of the ethanol plant
  • Learn all facets of the ethanol process including: cook, distillation,

evaporation, centrifuges, grain system, and water treatment.

  • Maintain self-awareness on safety issues and requirements and report any

safety concerns immediately to a supervisor or manager

  • Monitors and controls plant operations, which includes reviewing production

and quality, anticipating and solving problems in a timely manner and

identifying opportunities for improvement

  • Monitor and adjust on the (DCS) computer according to the results of the

samples and to keep within parameters and record changes

  • Keep operators, coming on shift, briefed on what has happened and what is

supposed to be done during the next shift.

  • Participates in Quality Assurance and Quality Control by communicating

directly with the QA/QC laboratory, sampling and testing process streams as

required, interpreting QA/QC results and taking action when required

  • Participates in plant maintenance, such as performing preventative

maintenance as required, assisting maintenance technicians in performing

needed repairs, diagnosing and trouble-shooting maintenance related issues

  • Must be able to lift 60 pounds, work in confined spaces, climb stairs and

ladders and work in various types of weather conditions

  • Position requires working a 12-hour shift - 4 days on 4 days off
  • Available occasionally for call in work and overtime

 

Qualifications Include: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Requires a driver’s license
  • Be able to operate utility vehicle
  • Must be hard working and self-motivated
  • Detail-oriented; proficiency for accuracy; dependable; positive attitude; team player
  • Ability to multi-task and take ownership of assigned projects
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ethanol experience preferred, will train the right candidate
