Looking for an internship where you’ll do more than make copies and organize files?
We’re looking for a Tax Season Intern to join our team for the 2027 tax season. The Marchese Group is a growing, boutique CPA firm that works with small to mid-sized businesses and high-net-worth individuals.
This is an opportunity to put your accounting coursework to work by gaining experience with real tax returns and seeing how a professional CPA firm operates during tax season.
What You’ll Get to Do
Your primary responsibility will be tax verification for individual 1040 returns. You’ll learn our tax software and verification process and, as you become comfortable with the work, take on more responsibility.
You’ll also:
- Review 1040 tax returns and supporting documentation
- Verify that information has been entered accurately and completely
- Identify missing or inconsistent information
- Follow established review procedures and checklists
- Communicate questions or potential issues to the team
- Work alongside experienced CPAs and accounting professionals
- Assist with other tax-season projects as needed

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting
- Has completed or is currently taking accounting coursework
- Interested in learning more about tax and public accounting
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Comfortable working with numbers and following established procedures
- Comfortable asking questions and learning new things
- A strong communicator
- Reliable and willing to pitch in when things get busy
- Able to work independently once trained

The Details
Position: Tax Season Intern
Location: Ramsey, NJ – Onsite
Schedule: Part-time, approximately 8–20 hours per week, with flexibility around your class schedule
Season: Fall, 2026 through April, 2027
Days: 1–2 days per week, with additional flexibility during busy periods
Employment Type: Temporary/Seasonal Internship
