Communications Director

Communications Director (Assemblymember Linda B. Rosenthal, New York State Assembly) 

The Director of Communications will be responsible for helping to develop and implement the Assemblymember’s message to members of the community and the media. This person will be required to draft press releases and advisories, write talking points, draft social media posts and regular electronic and other newsletters.

Qualifications:

2-3 years experience in local, state or federal government offices is strongly preferred. Exceptional writing skills are a must.

Must have demonstrated social media experience.The successful candidate will display strong analytical skills, excellent judgment, and political sensitivity. The applicant must be highly self-motivated, a focused team player and an experienced negotiator.

The Communications Coordinator must possess strong interpersonal skills, be willing to work some weekends and serve in a highly collaborative work environment. The successful candidate will be able to perform with precision in a fast-paced, high pressure environment and must be able to meet deadlines. Demonstrated experience building relationships and coalitions required.

The position is located in New York City; minimal travel will be required.

Salary:

$62,00 - 65,000
