Occupational Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation

Join Our Inpatient Rehabilitation Team

McLeod Health is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation team. In this role, you will help patients regain independence and improve their quality-of-life following illness, injury, or disability. Working collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that promote recovery and maximize functional outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Complete comprehensive patient evaluations through history, observation, and objective assessment techniques.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and establish measurable functional goals in collaboration with patients and families.
  • Provide occupational therapy interventions for patients with musculoskeletal, neurological, cardiovascular, developmental, and other functional impairments.
  • Monitor patient progress, modify treatment plans as needed, and maintain accurate clinical documentation.
  • Complete evaluations, re-evaluations, treatment notes, charges, and discharge summaries in accordance with departmental and hospital guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient progress, recommendations, and treatment plans.
  • Assist with department scheduling adjustments and caseload management.
  • Provide guidance and supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants (OTAs), including goal setting and patient care coordination.
  • Support departmental initiatives through mentoring, clinical education, competency training, performance improvement activities, and professional development.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized treatment environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education & Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current South Carolina Occupational Therapy License.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong clinical assessment and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining required continuing education for South Carolina licensure.
