Overview:
Trenton Makers is a STEM education program designed to introduce students to technology, entrepreneurship, and career-focused learning. Trenton Makers is seeking motivated candidates for the Entrepreneurship and Startup Development Teaching Internship to help students learn about entrepreneurship, startup development, business strategy, market research, and the process of developing and growing a business.
This internship provides practical experience in entrepreneurship education, lesson development, student engagement, and business-focused instruction. Participants will help make entrepreneurship and startup concepts understandable and engaging while supporting students through lessons, activities, discussions, and hands-on projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with teaching students fundamental entrepreneurship and startup development concepts.
- Support students as they explore business ideas, startup models, and entrepreneurial opportunities.
- Help develop entrepreneurship-focused lessons, activities, presentations, and educational materials.
- Explain business and startup concepts in a clear and understandable way.
- Assist students with activities involving market research, customer identification, and competitor analysis.
- Help students understand business models, startup strategy, and early-stage company growth.
- Support educational activities covering venture capital, startup funding, and fundraising concepts.
- Research startup companies, industries, and emerging business trends to support educational content.
- Help create hands-on projects that allow students to develop and evaluate their own business ideas.
- Collaborate with Trenton Makers instructors and leadership to improve entrepreneurship and startup education programs.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Management, Marketing, Finance, Economics, Innovation, or a related field.
- Interest in startups, entrepreneurship, business development, venture capital, and STEM education.
- Strong research, communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to explain business concepts in a clear and understandable way.
- Familiarity with market research, business strategy, startup development, or entrepreneurship concepts is a plus.
- Experience with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, or presentation and research tools is a plus.
- Previous teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or educational experience is a plus but not required.
- Interest in technology, innovation, or early-stage companies is a plus.
