Overview:

Trenton Makers is a STEM education program designed to introduce students to technology, entrepreneurship, and career-focused learning. Trenton Makers is seeking creative and organized candidates for the Student Curriculum Development Internship to support the development and improvement of educational materials covering subjects such as coding, artificial intelligence, software engineering, app development, cybersecurity, entrepreneurship, and other STEM-related topics.

This internship provides practical experience in curriculum development, instructional design, educational research, and STEM education. Participants will help create engaging learning materials and activities while working with the Trenton Makers team to develop educational content that makes technical concepts accessible and useful for students.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing STEM-focused lesson plans, activities, and educational materials.
  • Research curriculum development strategies and best practices in STEM education.
  • Help organize educational content into clear and structured learning modules.
  • Develop activities and projects that reinforce concepts taught in Trenton Makers programs.
  • Review existing educational materials and recommend improvements.
  • Help adapt technical topics into content that is understandable and engaging for students.
  • Assist with developing instructional materials related to coding, AI, cybersecurity, software development, and entrepreneurship.
  • Support the creation of assessments, exercises, and other materials used to measure student understanding.
  • Collaborate with instructors and program leadership to improve curriculum quality.
  • Research emerging STEM topics that could be incorporated into future educational programs.

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction, Instructional Design, Educational Technology, STEM Education, Computer Science Education, or a related field.
  • Interest in curriculum development, instructional design, STEM education, or educational technology.
  • Strong written communication, research, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to explain complex information in a clear and understandable way.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, or educational content creation tools is a plus.
  • Experience with tutoring, teaching, curriculum development, instructional design, or educational content creation is a plus.
  • Interest in technology, coding, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, or entrepreneurship is a plus.
