Overview:
Trenton Makers is a STEM education program designed to introduce students to technology, entrepreneurship, and career-focused learning. Trenton Makers is seeking enthusiastic candidates for the Middle School Education Internship to support educational programs for middle school students exploring subjects such as coding, artificial intelligence, software engineering, app development, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship.
This internship provides practical experience in middle school education, lesson planning, student engagement, and STEM instruction. Interns will help create engaging learning experiences while gaining experience working with students and supporting the development of technology-focused educational programs.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with planning and delivering STEM-focused lessons and activities for middle school students.
- Support students as they learn coding, technology, entrepreneurship, and other STEM concepts.
- Help develop age-appropriate lesson plans, activities, and educational materials.
- Assist instructors with classroom and virtual learning activities.
- Encourage student participation and engagement during educational programs.
- Provide support to students working on individual and group projects.
- Research teaching strategies and activities appropriate for middle school students.
- Assist with tracking student participation and learning progress.
- Help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
- Collaborate with Trenton Makers instructors and leadership on educational initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Middle School Education, Education, STEM Education, Child Development, Educational Studies, or a related field.
- Interest in working with middle school students and supporting STEM education.
- Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and work effectively with students.
- Experience working with children or students through tutoring, mentoring, teaching, or volunteering is a plus.
- Interest in coding, technology, entrepreneurship, or STEM subjects is a plus.
