Pre K Counts Teacher

Full Time Pre K Counts Teacher

Job Summary

Our Keystone STAR 4 Center offers a wonderful opportunity for an education professional to bring their skills and heart into a warm, family- focused, team oriented environment.  As our Pre K Counts teacher, you will lead a small group of up to 10 children, maintaining our 1:10 ratio to ensure each child receives personal attention and support. The Pre K Counts teacher will guide the children through creative, developmentally appropriate activities while working closely with and supporting the Assistant Teacher to maintain a safe, nurturing classroom.  Open communication with families, staff, and community partners is an important part of supporting each child's growth.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing, educational and learning classroom.
  • Supervise and support students at all times.
  • Support the physical, social, and emotional development of all students.
  • Design student-driven weekly lesson plans that align with the Pennsylvania Early Learning Standards and Experience Curriculum.
  • Deliver hands-on, play-based lessons that support early learning and social- emotional growth. 
  • Observe and document progress, adjusting instruction for each child within the 1:10 ratio.
  • Maintain open communication with families, celebrate milestones, and build strong relationships.
  • Maintain contact with program staff and community resources to support children's needs.
     

Qualifications

  • Degree in Early Childhood Education or Related field. 
  • PreK -4 Certification (or willingness to obtain) 
  • Strong communication skills and a team player mindset.
  • Ability to manage a classroom of up to 10 children with warmth, structure, and creativity.
  • Current FBI, Child Abuse, National Sex Offender Registry (NSOR), and State Criminal Background Clearances as well as applicable Out of State Clearances (State and Child Abuse) must be completed prior to working with children but are not required at the time of hire.
  • Physical examination and QuantiFeron TB Gold Test(QFT-Plus).
  • Ability and Desire to convert Instructional 1 Teaching Certificate to Instructional II within six (6) years of initial service.
