💻 Teach Students How to Build for the Web

The web is everywhere—and knowing how to build for it is a skill students can carry far beyond the classroom.

 

We’re looking for an enthusiastic Website Design Instructor to introduce students to the fundamentals of web development using HTML and CSS. You’ll help students move from simply using websites to understanding how websites are actually built.

 

Through hands-on projects, students will explore how to structure web pages, style content, organize layouts, and turn their creative ideas into functional websites.

 

This is an opportunity to make technology feel accessible, creative, and exciting while helping students develop practical skills they can continue building on.

🚀 What You'll Do

  • Lead engaging, hands-on Website Design sessions
  • Teach foundational HTML and CSS concepts in an approachable way
  • Guide students in creating and styling their own web pages and projects
  • Explain concepts such as HTML structure, elements, attributes, CSS styling, layouts, and basic responsive design
  • Demonstrate coding concepts and break technical ideas into easy-to-understand steps
  • Help students troubleshoot code and understand how to fix common errors
  • Encourage students to experiment with layouts, colors, typography, and creative design
  • Support students as they turn their ideas into functional websites
  • Adapt instruction to different technical backgrounds and learning styles
  • Create a positive, inclusive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes
  • Encourage problem-solving, creativity, and independent thinking
  • Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
  • Maintain an organized and productive classroom environment
  • Communicate professionally with program coordinators and school staff
  • Arrive prepared, dependable, and ready to make technology engaging

Prior experience in web development, teaching, tutoring, coding instruction, mentoring, camps, or youth programs is a plus—but not required.
