Join the Mukwonago Community Library as one of two new Library Associates on our dynamic and innovative Collections and Programs Team. We are looking for team-oriented people with exceptional customer service skills and a real passion for libraries. This role suits candidates who are looking for opportunities to deliver programming, provide reference at our Info Desk, engage with collection development and cataloging, and teach users in our makerspace, the MetaSpace 511. An exciting renovation in 2027 means our next Library Associates must be excited by change and ready to innovate, adapt, and connect with our community both inside out and outside our building throughout construction and beyond. The ideal candidates are friendly, eager to learn, comfortable with technology, and able to work independently. Current MLIS students are encouraged to apply.

 

Number of Open Positions: 2

Pay rate: $17.31 – $20.00 an hour depending upon experience

Reports to: Associate Director of Collections & Programs

Hours: Current requirement is an 20 hours per week per position. The following shifts are required:

Library Associate Position #1 

  • Monday 9-3 
  • Tuesday 9-3 
  • Friday 10-6 

Library Associate Position #2 

  • Tuesday 11-5 
  • Wednesday 9-3 
  • Thursday 12-8 
     

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Required Qualifications:
    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Skilled in utilizing technology to conduct all aspects of the job including communication, record keeping, and customer service
    • Ability to communicate in a friendly and cooperative manner to staff and library visitors
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field
    • Experience working in libraries, education, or similar jobs
  • All applicants are subject to fingerprinting and a background check. Employment is contingent on passing those assessments.
