About the Position

The Family & Community Engagement Program Specialist VISTA will help build sustainable systems that strengthen the connection between Boys & Girls Clubs, families, and community partners.

This position will focus on identifying community resources, understanding the needs and barriers families experience, developing systems for connecting families with support, and creating sustainable opportunities for parents to become engaged leaders within their local Clubs.

The VISTA will work closely with organizational leadership and Club staff across our locations to develop tools, resources, and processes that can be used throughout Boys & Girls Clubs of North Louisiana and adapted as the organization continues to grow.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Community Resource Development
  • The VISTA will research and develop a comprehensive community resource guide and referral system to help connect Club families with resources and services.
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Researching existing community resource guides, websites, and organizations across the parishes served by our nine Club locations.
  • Identifying resources related to:
  • Education
  • Health and wellness
  • Mental health
  • Food security
  • Housing
  • Employment
  • Financial literacy
  • Transportation
  • Family support services

About AmeriCorps VISTA

This position is part of the AmeriCorps VISTA program. VISTA members serve with nonprofit organizations and government agencies to build organizational capacity and develop sustainable solutions to community challenges.
